{"id":22,"date":"2006-09-29T08:59:13","date_gmt":"2006-09-29T12:59:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cecsearch.com\/WordPress\/2006\/09\/29\/candidates-bill-of-rights-part-3\/"},"modified":"2022-08-08T03:59:52","modified_gmt":"2022-08-08T07:59:52","slug":"candidates-bill-of-rights-part-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cecsearch.com\/wordpress\/2006\/09\/29\/candidates-bill-of-rights-part-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Exploring the Candidate Bill of Rights (part-3)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font size=\"2\"><span class=\"053451317-22092006\">\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/span>continuing my running commentary on the <\/font><a title=\"Browse ItzBig Blog in a new windos\" href=\"http:\/\/www.itzbigblog.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><font color=\"#214876\" size=\"2\">ItzBIG Blog<\/font><\/a><font size=\"2\"> series of articles on the <\/font><a title=\"Read the third installment right here.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.itzbigblog.com\/126\/exploring-the-job-candidate-bill-of-rights-part-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><font color=\"#214876\" size=\"2\">Candidate Bill of Rights<\/font><\/a><font size=\"2\">.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">This week&#8217;s topic is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153<strong>Accuracy<\/strong>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0as it applies to the posting of jobs on job boards, career centers, newspaper and magazine ads.\u00c2\u00a0 I covered the subject of accuracy (or more precisely, lack of accuracy and purposeful vagueness) in jobs posted by recruiters in my article <a title=\"Permanent Link to Recruiting Myths - Candidate Resumes\" href=\"https:\/\/cecsearch.com\/WordPress\/2006\/09\/11\/myths-candidate-resumes\/\" rel=\"bookmark\"><font color=\"#214876\">Recruiting Myths &#8211; Candidate Resumes<\/font><\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 There I explained for candidates&#8217; benefit, the reasons why many job posts by third party recruiters are not detailed.\u00c2\u00a0 It is quite different when you examine the problem of inaccurate job postings by hiring authorities.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">The author does a great job of discussing the huge problem that is created when the descriptions posted by hiring authorities have no relation to the real world aspects of the job.\u00c2\u00a0 Inaccurate job descriptions and bad postings create a swirling vortex of time wasting posts, applications, responses, correspondence, bad hires and ultimately turnover.\u00c2\u00a0 Seems as though companies would have caught on by now, what with exit interviews and such.\u00c2\u00a0 Only reason that I can think of that a company would have to put such flowery sales language in their placement ads that it makes them almost out and out lies, is that the company is horrible to work for.\u00c2\u00a0 <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">Accuracy, as listed in the Candidate Bill of Rights, implemented by hiring companies would not only be a huge saver of time, money, resources but also help propel the company to the top of its field by building stronger, better performing teams where team members stay longer.\u00c2\u00a0 <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">Seems funny that one of the precepts in the Candidate Bill of Rights would have benefits for the hiring company that far outweighs those for candidates.
